Entry 9: Professional Goals and Dispositions
Short-Term and Long-Term Professional Goals
Short-Term Goals
~As I finish my Master's coursework, I wish to continue educating myself. I have loved being around fellow educators on campus and through my distance courses, and have grown so much through their ideas and inspiration. While I will no longer be taking classes, I want to use the PLN I have grown to continue to push myself to new limits and to try new things.
~I also continue my goal of allowing my students to lead the learning, and step more into a facilitator role, rather than a leadership role. I want to continue to make my classroom a place where the students are eager to learn and dive in to the curriculum.
Long-Term Goals
~Sooner rather than later, I would like to begin coursework for a PhD in Educational Technology. It is an area I am incredibly passionate about, and I want to continue learning everything I can.
~I would like to continue to think about where I would like to see my career go. Whether it is to continue as a classroom teacher, or to take my passion about educational technology to the university level, so many doors have been opened, and I am so excited to see what comes next!

Reflection & Growth
The last two years have been incredibly influential, both professionally and personally. I have formed wonderful and lasting relationships with some amazing people. I have had the privilege to enjoy so many new experiences, from co-presenting at my very first technology conference, to helping bring new technologies to my school. As I said earlier, the last two years have changed the way I think about teaching, and how I interact with my students, all for the better. I will strive to push myself to continue learning and leading.

Dr. Talab and I presenting at MACE '12.
Dr. Talab and I presented "Twitter/Tweetdeck in the Classroom" for the MACE 2012 conference. It was an awesome experience, and I learned so much from it!
~Ironically, I won a prize for most tweets on the
#MACE12 hashtag during the conference!

Change Agent
One of my biggest goals is to always be a change agent in my school. I want to push for new technologies, and better use of what we have. I want to encourage my colleagues to learn new ways to teach, and always be someone who is willing to help. Below is a change action plan I wrote for EDCI 888 Professional Seminar II, on why I believe computer labs could be eliminated from schools.
